Innovations in Parcel Management Easing Pandemic Strain on Buildings – Urban Toronto

The proportion of people living in high-rise and multi-family buildings in the Greater Toronto Area is growing steadily. This, when coupled with acceleration of e-commerce as a result of the pandemic, is putting an increasing strain on building staff when it comes to the management and storage of package deliveries.
To combat this, 1VALET has partnered with Snaile, an automated parcel locker firm to be able to offer an end-to-end solution for parcel management. Currently, Snaile has lockers in 55 cities across Canada. When couriers arrive, packages are scanned at the 1VALET Entry Console which grants the couriers secure access into the building. Packages are then safely deposited into the Snaile lockers, with the targeted recipient receiving a delivery notification directly to their 1VALET Resident App with one-time QR pickup code. In partnership with Snaile, 1VALET’s technology has been built into the highest-profile projects under construction in Toronto and the surrounding area, including The Well at Spadina and Front, Galleria on the Park community at Dupont, and Dufferin in downtown Mississauga.
Non-concierge multi-family buildings are traditionally limited to Canada Post parcel deliveries, but no more. With 1VALET, residents can receive deliveries from all prominent courier companies, including Amazon, Purolator, UPS, DHL, FedEx, Canpar and Intelcom.
