It was a chaotic time for CES 2022. With the ongoing pandemic and evolving quarantine restrictions, last-minute COVID-19-related cancellations were wreaking havoc on the organizer’s plans. But despite fewer in-person exhibitors, the world’s largest consumer electronics show continued on, with over 2000 exhibitors showcasing the latest in consumer technology, both on the show floor and online. As a result of the pandemic, some faster growing technologies will play a bigger role in CES this year than in previous years. As Voice of America’s Julie Taboh reports, one of these areas is home technology, where companies like 1VALET are helping make residential living safer and smarter. “We’ve seen a lot of progress in smart homes, but we haven’t seen it apartments and condos and that’s what we’re really focused on” says 1VALET VP of Sales & Marketing Rick Hardy-Cheam.
